This is a story of Vincent Van Gogh & the little
boy who inspired him to paint his famous
sunflowers! I really love that this one is about
a famous artist, a great way to expose children
to art. It is supposed to be based on a true
story! Great pictures, and very likable
characters!
"A
told B, and B told C...I'll meet ya at the top
of the coconut tree!"...Oh, this one is a kick,
especially if you get the tape and can sing
along with Ray Charles and the other versions.
Lots of percussion! A fantastic way to learn the
alphabet! There's also a neat computer game on
cd based on this that's fun too!
The
sequel to "Dear Children of the Earth." And this
one is FANTASTIC too! Schim Schimmel is an
environmental author/artist...you've probably
seen his art on puzzles and calendars and such.
He's very famous for his baby white tigers, one
of which is on the cover of this book. As
always, a terrific "earth-friendly" book...makes
you think, makes you feel! It was written
because "the people forgot." And you can't not
LOVE the illustrations!
Do
you remember how fun carboard boxes were as a
child? This is a fantastic book about one little
girl and her adventures with her box that goes
from a castle to a dance floor throughout the
course of the book...and many other things in
between.
I
LOVE Kevin Henkes...and this one is just
adorable....a little girl with an unusual
name... after the typical teasing..."She's named
after a flower!," a neat little twist at the end
of the story...And, of course, she DOES learn to
be very proud of her name! This one would be
great for kids with unusual names, I think...
Check out all of
Kevin Henkes other books as well! All are
adorable!
The
crayons dislike each other until a little girl
draws a picture with them, showing each of their
uniqueness and beauty. A very good story about
acceptance, no matter what your color.
