If You Give a T-Rex a Bone
by Tim Myers

I got this book to review from Dawn Publications. If you have a prehistoric animal fan in the family, they'll love this one! A cute reworking of the "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" series (another great series of books!), but with a prehistoric twist! A little boy is on an adventure in a prehistorical world in this one...With each step in this story, you will learn about more prehistoric animals...and the end of the book has even MORE info and book recommendations and web links to expand further on your knowledge on the subject.

The Itzy Bitzy House
by Christine Morton-Shaw

My daughter and husband discovered this one. VERY cute! Sad little animals caught out in the rain, "Dry me, dry me, give me a home!"...some repetition so the kiddos can "read" along. This is really fun to read. And it does have a happy ending, don't worry. :)

I Love You the Purplest
by Barbara M. Joosse

This is about 2 little boys who are endlessly trying to out-do each other with their mom. The mom in this book has the best answers.

If You Give a Moose a Muffin
by Laura Joffe Numeroff

Don't give him that muffin!! You just don't know where it'll lead! <grin> One thing leads to another, and you have your hands full with that moose!

Also check out "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" & "If You Give a Pig a Pancake." Both very cute as well.

In the Night Kitchen
by Maurice Sendak

Another one of my childhood books...I have loved this one forever. "I'm in the milk and the milk's in me...God bless milk, and God bless me!" Mickey falls asleep and drifts into another world where cooks (who look remarkably like either Laurel or Hardy...I am not familiar with which is which) are busy baking cake for the next breakfast. There's a naked shot at one point of Mickey that always made me giggle as a kid...hehe.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider
by Iza Trapani

Very cute pictures! And if you ever wanted extra verses for "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" song, here ya go! Very well written! I never really thought about how persevering that little spider was! It's a good lesson on "don't give up!"

This author also has several other books of popular children's songs to check out.

Jumanji
by Chris Van Allsburg

This was a great book long before the movie was ever thought of! Fantastic black/white pictures...The story is similar to the movie, a jungle adventure type board game that comes to life...much mayhem!

There are many other excellent books by this author as well.
