I'm currently homeschooling my
daughter, roughly, using the Charlotte Mason (CM)
approach. We use a secular approach to it (vs the
Christian approach which is most often attributed to CM)
and tweak it wherever necessary for our purposes.
There's all kinds of great info on
the net about Charlotte Mason Education, just google her
name and you'll find more info than you'll ever read. :)
I thought I'd share some
information and
booklists here, for those that might be attempting to
use this approach secularly as well.
Below are CM resources
that I've compiled, from sources such as the
Secular Charlotte Mason Group at Yahoo. I've tried
to keep this info secular, but I've found that even some
of the religious CM info can also be useful to secular
CM'rs like myself. So I choose to not, as they say,
"throw the baby out with the bath water." I will try to
mark non-secular resources as possible...just realize
that as of the writing of this, pretty much every CM
resource out there is religious based, except for these
pages and the SecularCM yahoogroup.
You can find the info in these
pages divided by main topics:
History/Geography
The Arts
Literature
Language Arts
Math/Science/Nature
