This was in answer to my question
of WHAT to do with my toddler while I am trying to
do focused work with my kindergartner. I was at a
loss as to how to keep him busy, since he tends to
climb all over me, tear books out of our hands, tear
up anything we are working on and generally make it
downright impossible to do any work with my older
child. I asked this question on some online
homeschool groups and this is what I got in
response...Since not everything will work for
everyone, I am posting here in hopes that something
here might help someone. :)

Here are a few things we do. We have gotten out the
Leap Frog videos and (younger sib) will watch those
while we do school. (younger sib) has already
learned most of his alphabet sounds in the
process...:). When I make (older sib)'s flashcards,
I also make some for (younger sib). While he ends
up destroying them, he still feels like he is part
of the lesson. (younger sib) also has a school box
just like brother, with crayons, pen etc. in it.
So, he can do the same worksheet/projects that
brother is doing (I will usually make copies for
(younger sib)). Most days (younger sib) has to
sleep right on top of me. I have started working
around that by having (older sib) hold the book
while I read to him, or work on math, something he
can do himself and need only my verbal interaction.
