So you're probably wondering who the heck I am, right? Well, my name is Tina and I too am a Fresno local.

I need to make it very clear to all my site visitors that this is a mommy-made site, NOT a professional site. This is a one-mama run site, and its entirely done on my opinion and experiences and in my free time (what little there is) when I'm not busy mommying, homeschooling, or working on a million other projects and tasks...So anyone who considers doing business with me needs to keep this in mind and realize I'm on mommy time--which means my KIDS come first, not my business. Thank you for understanding!

I was born in '70, so figure out how old that is now, LOL...have been married to a wonderful man since '99, and we had our first child, a daughter, in '00...our second, a son, in '04, but sadly he was stillborn. We then had another son in July '05. I've only lived in Fresno since '97, but my husband was born and raised here and both our families are here.

Well, I've always gravitated towards jobs with children...Have been an educator in many capacities since receiving my Bachelor's in Child Development in 1992.

Some of you are probably familiar with this school. It's one of the best 6th grade Outdoor Education programs in California...second only to Yosemite Institute. (Well, that's what I hear!) All students in Tulare County go to SCICON in 6th grade. Some day I'd really love to see Fresno County 6th graders all get such an incredible opportunity. There are equivalent programs for Fresno County, but the Fresno County Dept. of Education has yet to make these programs a priority for ALL 6th graders to go, and provide the support necessary to enable these programs to thrive, as Tulare County has done with SCICON. But I digress...  ANYWAY! Since both our families live here in Fresno...it's worked out nicely for us to settle here and start our own family.

And now that I am here...Well, being raised in the military, I'm always bouncing around from one thing to another...I've worked in many different areas here in Fresno, but the one place I've enjoyed the most has been my time at The Discovery Center. I've been an educator there for several years now, off and on...and while I am not currently teaching there, I do stay connected with them and refer people to their many wonderful programs (hence, the link in the site map).

Now, what else about me? Hmmmm....

I had a "Mommy & Me" class that I led in my home from  2002-2005, off and on, to help pay the bills and have some fun weekly. I taught preschool for several years in the past, so I had a fun time coming up with neat things to do, while staying home with my daughter and making a little cash. I'm currently working on an ebook about how to start your own In-Home Mommy & Me Program, so stay tuned!.

I also have another website, Mommy Chats, that has more information about me that you can read here. Don't want to repeat myself or bore you with too many details. :) That's my other site/business that takes up a lot of my time...a live chat site with all kinds of informative chats geared towards moms.

A last thing I'd like to mention about me is that I am an "attachment parent." If you have no idea what I am talking about...refer to the my AP pages or just do a search on the net under "attachment parenting." There's an ENORMOUS amount of info out there on the subject, just waiting to be read by you! If you happen to be an AP parent like myself, we have a rather large, & very active local AP playgroup (called "Fresno AP Mommies") that you can email me for info on meeting dates & locations!!
